CarMax Incident: Brain Injury After Vehicle Impact

Inglewood, California — A man remains in a coma with paralysis after a vehicle collision at an Inglewood CarMax dealership on March 8th, authorities reported on Tuesday. The incident, which occurred on La Cienega Boulevard, resulted in severe injuries, including a brain injury to the victim.

Andrew Arroyo, 25, is now facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and vandalism, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The collision, which took place after 2 p.m., impacted ten individuals, with six sustaining significant bodily harm. Notably, the victim with the brain injury remains in critical condition.

A CarMax representative clarified that only one employee was injured during the event. Before the crash, Arroyo had been at the dealership, evaluating vehicles and obtaining an offer. Employees noted his behavior abruptly shifted, though they did not link it to the appraisal.

Arroyo is also accused of a hit-and-run incident and was allegedly armed during the dealership collision. Prosecutors allege that Arroyo acted with extreme cruelty and posed a threat to the community. He was on probation at the time of the incident following a DUI conviction. If found guilty, Arroyo may face a life sentence.
