Child Critical After Head Injury in Exposition Park

Los Angeles, California — An incident in Exposition Park late Monday night left a child hospitalized in critical condition after the youngster dashed into the street and was hit by a passing vehicle. 

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division responded promptly to the intersection of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Halldale Avenue following reports of the accident, according to LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes.

Details provided by law enforcement sources, as reported by KTLA5, indicated that the child, whose exact age remains undisclosed, unexpectedly ran into the path of a westbound vehicle on MLK Jr. Boulevard. Video footage from the scene depicted a red Pontiac sedan surrounded by caution tape in the roadway.

Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured child to a nearby hospital, where they were initially listed in critical condition due to a head injury sustained in the collision. 

The driver involved in the incident remained present at the scene, and authorities have not made any immediate arrests in connection with the accident.
