Anaheim, California — A Disneyland Resort employee tragically died after sustaining a head injury from a fall off a moving golf cart, the Anaheim Police Department reported.
The incident occurred backstage at the Disneyland Resort on Wednesday, June 5th around 11:30 a.m. Emergency responders from Anaheim police, fire, and rescue services arrived promptly at the scene. The employee, identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear, a 60-year-old resident of Fullerton, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Lear, who had been with Disneyland Resort for 24 years and worked in membership services at Club 33, succumbed to her injuries on Friday, June 7th, two days after the accident. The Orange County Coroner’s Division confirmed her identity.
Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, “We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her. At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.“
