An El Cajon hit-and-run pedestrian crash left a 70-year-old elderly Pedestrian with TBI on Tuesday afternoon in the 400 block of Fletcher Parkway, authorities said.
According to the El Cajon Police, officers were dispatched at 3:28 p.m. to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. The driver fled, but witnesses provided a detailed description and the license plate number. Using automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology, officers located the car within minutes and detained the driver, who later admitted involvement.
The victim was transported to a hospital; police said he is expected to survive. The driver — Brian Guevara, 19 — was booked into county jail on suspicion of hit-and-run.
“This case highlights how technology and strong community partnerships help us solve crimes quickly and keep our streets safer,” said Police Chief Jeremiah Larson.
