Man Hospitalized with Brain Bleed After San Diego Crash

San Diego, California — A 53-year-old man was hospitalized after suffering a brain bleed during a late-night car accident in San Diego’s Kensington neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:23 p.m. on August 23 on the 4800 block of Fairmount Avenue.

San Diego Police reported that the man was driving a 2008 Lincoln Town Car southbound when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle, causing it to collide with an embankment on the west side of the road. Shortly after, a 24-year-old woman driving a 2005 Acura could not avoid the Lincoln and struck the side of the vehicle.

The force of the collision left the man with a severe brain bleed, and he was transported to a nearby hospital. His current condition remains undisclosed. Authorities have confirmed that alcohol did not play a role in the accident.

The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is leading the investigation. They are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact them at 858-495-7800 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
