Crown Point, Indiana — A woman suffered a traumatic brain injury after her boyfriend, Jack Randall Stickle, 58, allegedly fled the scene of a motorcycle crash in April. Stickle now faces multiple charges, including felony counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury and operating while intoxicated, according to court records.
The crash occurred near the 6900 block of 86th Place when Stickle lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a parked car. Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and finding the woman pinned beneath the motorcycle.
One witness recounted that Stickle appeared more focused on gathering motorcycle parts than attending to the injured victim. The woman, who had sustained a head injury, was eventually freed by witnesses.
Stickle allegedly fled the scene on the motorcycle but returned shortly after in a vehicle. Witnesses stalled him until police arrived. Authorities stated Stickle failed multiple sobriety tests, with a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.
The woman, unable to speak immediately due to her injuries, later confirmed they were returning from dinner, and Stickle had been drinking. She recalled hitting her head during the crash. Our thoughts are with the victim as she recovers from this traumatic experience.
