Sacramento County, California — A 64-year-old Sacramento resident succumbed to injuries sustained in a pedestrian-vehicle collision that occurred five months prior, officials confirmed.
Machelle Denise Wilson passed away at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Monday, as reported by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death was attributed to a traumatic brain injury resulting from the October 12, 2024, incident.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that the collision transpired at the intersection of 44th Street and 26th Avenue within the Fruitridge Pocket area. Investigations revealed that Ms. Wilson was struck by a vehicle at this location. Authorities determined that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the accident. The incident, which initially resulted in severe injuries, ultimately led to her death months later.
