Calistoga, California — A 22-year-old restaurant server from Calistoga is battling a traumatic brain injury after being struck by a police car on July 29.
Brenda Sarabio, a beloved member of the Calistoga community, sustained severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, when a police sergeant’s patrol vehicle hit her as she was crossing the street. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. as Sarabio was walking to the gym.

Michael Madden, the owner of Calistoga Depot, where Sarabio worked, expressed gratitude for the swift medical response, noting that Sarabio was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
Madden explained that Sarabio was on life support with an uncertain prognosis.
Sarabio’s friends have been deeply affected by the accident. Her friend, Itzia Enriquez, described the situation as deeply upsetting.
The community remains concerned as the CHP continues its investigation. There is no timeline yet for determining the cause of the crash.
