Head Injury After Police Pursuit and Head-On Collision

Texas – A 19-year-old driver is hospitalized with a head injury following a police pursuit that concluded with a head-on collision late Thursday.  Olmos Park police initiated the pursuit around 11:30 p.m. after attempting to stop the driver for a flat tire on McCullough Avenue. The driver fled southbound, weaving through traffic, according to authorities.

The chase ended at the intersection of San Pedro and Fresno when the suspect’s vehicle collided head-on with another car. The 19-year-old driver was found unresponsive and transported to a hospital with a non-critical head injury. The two occupants of the other vehicle, also men aged 19 and 20, were taken to a hospital for observation due to minor injuries.

Following an investigation, officers determined the suspect was intoxicated. A weapon was also discovered in his vehicle. He now faces charges of driving under the influence, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and drug possession.
